Whereas, The Associated Students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Student Fee has not increased in some time; and

Whereas, This has resulted in a rapid net decline in the purchasing power held by ASUAF, and therefore a loss of authority for the students; and

Whereas, With a greater fee, ASUAF would be better able to advocate for the students of this University; and

Whereas, The Sun-Star newspaper and KSUA radio station would also benefit from increased funding; now therefore be it

Enacted, That the following question be referred to the ballot of the next ASUAF General Election:

Question:
The ASUAF Student Fee is currently $35 per semester, of which $2.45 goes to the Sun-Star newspaper, $5.25 goes to the ASUAF Concert Board, and $9.45 goes to the KSUA radio station. The remainder of the fee is allocated for staff salaries and projects put on by ASUAF. Any changes made to the fee will take effect at the beginning of the 2008-2009 academic year.

Shall the ASUAF Student Fee be:
(A): Increased to $55, of which $8.25 will go to the Sun-Star, $9.35 will go to the Concert Board, and $13.75 will go to KSUA?
(B): Increased to $45, of which $6.75 will go to the Sun-Star, $7.65 will go to the Concert Board, and $11.25 will go to KSUA?
